Background
Ms Selina Chin graduated from the National University of Singapore in 1983 and was called to the Singapore Bar in February 1984. After about 17 years in practice, garnering experience in a broad range of legal work which included conveyancing, litigation, corporate matters, intellectual property, probate, criminal and family law, she joined a property developer and hotelier.
As group legal counsel, Ms Chin advised on issues arising from the corporation's real estate and hospitality businesses.
Since returning to practice in 2010, Ms Chin has mainly been handling conveyancing matters, providing advice to and acting for various parties in property transactions, apart from representing developers in various development projects.
Appointments
Ms Chin was part of a team that made representations to the Select Committee on the Building Maintenance and Strata Management Bill before it was passed in 2004.
She has been a tutor for the Real Estate Practice module of the SILE's Preparatory Course for Part B of the Singapore Bar Examinations and is a member of the Law Society's Conveyancing Practice Committee. She is also a member of the Law Society's Anti-Money Laundering Committee.
