How Foo & Quek LLC collects, uses, discloses and protects personal data, in accordance with the Personal Data Protection Act 2012.

FOO & QUEK LLC (UEN: 201505279Z) is a law corporation registered in Singapore. This notice explains how the firm handles personal data under the Personal Data Protection Act 2012. It applies to personal data the firm receives about clients, prospective clients, counterparties, contacts and applicants for employment.
How personal data reaches the firm
This website does not have an enquiry form and offers no other means of submitting personal data through the site. Personal data reaches the firm when you write to the firm by email, telephone the firm, correspond with it by post, or meet its lawyers in person, and when it is provided to the firm by other parties in the course of a matter, such as agents, counterparties, banks and government agencies.
Purposes of collection
The firm collects and uses personal data provided to it by email, by telephone, by post or in person for the following purposes: responding to your enquiry; providing legal services where the firm is instructed; conflict checking and client identification; complying with legal and regulatory obligations, including under the Legal Profession Act 1966 and applicable anti-money-laundering requirements; and, where you apply for a role with the firm, assessing your application.
Consent and withdrawal
By providing personal data to the firm, you consent to its collection, use and disclosure for the purposes above. You may withdraw consent at any time by writing to the firm's Data Protection Officer, subject to legal and contractual limits; withdrawal may affect the firm's ability to respond to your enquiry or to act for you.
Disclosure
The firm does not sell personal data. It discloses personal data only to the extent required for the purposes above, including to courts, tribunals, regulators, counterparties and their solicitors in the course of providing legal services, and to service providers who process data on the firm's behalf under obligations of confidentiality.
Retention and protection
Personal data is retained only for as long as necessary for the purposes above or as required by law and professional obligations, and is protected by reasonable security arrangements appropriate to its sensitivity.
Access and correction
You may ask what personal data the firm holds about you and how it has been used or disclosed, and you may ask the firm to correct an error or omission. Requests should be addressed to the firm's Data Protection Officer. The firm may decline a request to the extent the Act permits or requires, including where the data is subject to legal professional privilege.
